NEW YORK, July 23 -- Two-time NBA scoring champion Kobe Bryant has repaired his right knee through an arthroscopic surgery, the Los Angeles Lakers announced on Friday.
Bryant, a 12-time NBA all-star, underwent the last week and is expected to be ready for the start of the training camp September 25.
Between then and now, Bryant will be spending time in the gym rehabilitating the knee, the club said.
During the Lakers' playoff run last season, Bryant had doctors drain the knee to reduce swelling.
Bryant played through several injuries while leading the Lakers to their second straight championship in June.
Bryant could also need surgery on a broken finger which hampered him throughout the 2009-10 season playoffs.
